Micah Carpenter hates New Orleans. Hell, after ten years he no longer has much affection for the Deacons of Bourbon Street motorcycle club, either. But when the brotherhood calls, Micah answers. Joining the hunt for their mentor’s killer, he crosses paths with a Southern belle who exudes class—and sex appeal. Micah knows better than to mess with ice princesses: No matter how hot things get, they never melt. And yet he can’t stop himself from offering her a taste of the wrong side of the tracks.

Sarah Delacroix understands that reputation is everything. The daughter of a prominent family rocked by scandal, she’s desperate to restore their good name. Micah’s exactly the kind of man she should be avoiding. Behind his sleek and sophisticated exterior beats the heart of a predator—and she knows it. But, like the tattoos beneath his tailored suit, his rough edges are irresistible. And all too soon Sarah finds him getting under her skin . . . and living out every one of her hottest fantasies.

As an experienced reader of MC themed stories  , I can tell you that there are high chances for this book to be among top 10 best MC books for 2016. And yes, even if it is the 4th book from the Deacons of Bourbon Street you can read it as a stand alone.

Is this your typical MC book? I'll let you find out. You are in for a pleasant surprise. The plot does bring something fresh and unexpected. I was oscillating between giving it 4 stars or 5. I must admit that I enjoyed this story too much and by the end of the book I also started to like the characters, especially Sarah. She turns out to be the kind of girl that I'm looking for in these  MC books.

" I grew up running drugs in the back alleys , dealing with hookers , criminals. I was saved by the bad guys.[...] I'm a selfish prick.I worked too hard for what I have to be anything different [...]You want to come into my world, little girl?"

Micah 'Prince' Carpenter left New Orleans and his brothers ten years ago.He started a new life in San Francisco , he always craved for a higher expensive life. Truth is , he'd never fit anywhere because he didn't know who he was and always felt like a whole lot of layers of people stuck together. He had one foot in real life and one foot in the biker life.

But now he is back. Because he owes debt to the club and he needs to find out why and who killed Priest, the president of the club , his mentor.

"I spend my time trying to guard our family name. Our reputation. And it wasn't real. It was never real. "

Sarah Delacroix belongs to a prominent  family and she desperately tries to restore their reputation and good name. For the sake of her grandfather, her only relative left alive.

The Deacons got hold of the Delacroix's mansion and it's up to Prince to find out what is the connection between Sarah and the death of their president. Only Sarah falls in love with Micah but sadly she doesn't know Prince and what dark secrets he is hiding .She does not know that  he is the reason why her family was broken and her life destroyed. Micah was the mask, Prince was the real man behind it.
"Surprise , baby! I'm the fucking hurricane."
He ruined families, he had ruined his own ,the club and now Delacroix was next on his list. He only knew how to demolish  .

Emily Rose Dougherty is a good Catholic girl from mythical Walkerville, CT. She had somehow managed to get herself into a heap trouble with the law, all because an ex-boyfriend has decided to make things difficult.

Luke “Spade” Wade owns a Motorcycle repair shop and is the Road Caption for Hade’s Spawn MC. He’s shocked when he reads in the paper that his old high school flame has been arrested. She’s always been the one he couldn’t forget.

Will destiny let them find each other again? Or what happens in the past, best left for the history books?

At the moment I can't really say much about Luke and Emily's story. It abruptly ends .All we know is that Emily and Luke got apart after a stupid motorbike accident. Years after they finally make contact again but Em's parents and ex keeps getting between them. The rest of 40% of the book is an excerpt of a different book "The Boss" (which I didn't read).I'm willing to give it a try to the following book.

ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

After two years of work in the gold fields of California, Caleb Hightower has come home to marry his childhood sweetheart, Jessica Willoughby. But when he returns, Caleb learns his refined bride-to-be is now a whore. Enraged by her betrayal, he can’t reconcile this shameless woman with the sweet innocent he once deeply loved--but Caleb knows what to do with a harlot. He’s determined to get everything from her that she’s sold to other men. And he’s prepared to pay for the pleasure of his revenge.

Left penniless after her father’s death, Jess made a deal with a devil. Now she must face her childhood sweetheart, whose scorn is no match for her regret. To make amends, she’ll let Caleb quench his rage with her body. Their bargain strips them down to searing passion and naked vulnerability, and Jess can still glimpse her loving Caleb buried deep inside this rough cowboy. In the end, an unbearable truth emerges that could push them toward forgiveness…or could destroy their fragile bond forever.

This story is romantic, erotic , emotional and overwhelming. This might be a short story but it has everything that you need.

Two years ago Caleb  left for California to earn money and  provide for his loved one Jessica . She was the daughter of the local doctor , a very beautiful and educated young lady . Even if it means wagering with her life.

Adrenaline and violence have always numbed the pain, but not this time.
Not with her.
Can either of them survive his love, or will Star be just another speed bump on Remy's road to hell?

"This world is fucked , fast and rough. I am cancer. I am death's handshake. In my wake . I leave only ruin. No, you can't trust me."

She is at the wrong  place and time. While working at her aunt and uncle's gas station a group of bikers stops and kills her only relatives. One week. No future. No past. No more.
Alexandria Collins has one week to live carefree—no ghosts of her past or pressures of her future haunting her. Reinventing herself as "Charli," she is knocked off her feet by a sexy, mysterious man who brings her pleasure like she never imagined. With her heart at stake, she forgets that decisions made in the dark of night reappear in the bright light of day.

"Some of my tastes are unique. They aren’t for everyone. I understand that.”

Lennox "Nox" Demetri is wealthy, confident, and decisive—he knows what he wants. From the first time he sees Charli at an exclusive resort, he knows he wants her. Although he is usually the one to make the rules, together they agree on one:

One week. No more.

When betrayal comes from those closest to Alexandria, she must decide how far she is willing to go to survive. Choices are not always easy, especially when they involve the heart, body, and soul. After all, Infidelity is a business, and some rules are meant to be broken.

"Is it really cheating if you're doing it to yourself?"

So I think I'm one of the very few people who can't really wrap her head around why people are nuts over this book. Don't get me wrong and don't hate me for what I'm about to write. I'm not saying that it's a bad book or anything. It was ok. The writing was great I just didn't liked the plot and couldn't connect with the characters.Maybe it's just not my cup of tea . Don't take my words for it just read it and maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did.

If you're not a very patient reader (like me) and you don't like reading 70% of the book just to discover that nothing exciting really happens, then more than probably this book is not for you. I was about to give up on it 4 times but I pushed myself because many people recommended it to me. I was thinking that if it has so many 5 stars ratings and good reviews ,then it must be something good. I waited for ....something 'wow' to happen ! Maybe I'm just blind and I'm missing the point of the book.
Don't even get me started on the characters and on Alexandria's annoying switch between her three personas. I just...umm...sorry.Not for me.

A scarred fighter.
A girl with rules.
One night of unbridled passion.

There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Bennett: she’s smart as a whip, always in control, and lives by a set of carefully crafted rules. She’s learned the hard way that people you love the most always hurt you in the end.

But then she meets Declan Blay, the new neighbor at her apartment complex.

A tattooed British street fighter, he’s the campus bad boy she’s supposed to avoid, but when he saves her from a frat party gone bad, all her rules about sex and love fly out the window.

She gives him one night of unbridled passion, but he longs for more.

With only a cardboard-thin wall separating their bedrooms, he dreams of possessing the vulnerable girl next door forever.

One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.

"I want to visit my mum's grave with you and tell her  how I found the perfect broken girl to fall in love with."

I think it's pretty good . The plot and the characters are nothing out of the ordinary, nothing 'WOW' really happens , I waited for that big 'Boom !' the entire book but it didn't happened. And this is the reason why I enjoyed this book so much. The plot is realistic and actually makes sense !!

And I like how the author sketched her characters.

Declan Blay is an english student and a street fighter.
"It's Gaelic and means full of goodness. Ironic since most call me trouble."
Even so , he is nothing huge or hulky ,  just an avarage good-looking Brit. Declan also has a twin brother named Dax. Even if back in England their dad is pretty wealthy Declan refuses to ask for help and he prefer fighting to gain money. He is the rebel one, with no desire to continue his studies , he opens a gym and focuse on training other people. He is everything that Elizabeth doesn't want near her.

" He should come with a freaking warning label."

Elizabeth Bennett isn't looking for her soul mate, she is just a normal student who works hard for her grades to overcome her condition. She comes from a poor family , from a father who is in jail and that she never met ; her mom is waiting tables and likes to sleep around a lot.
Ever since she got abused and raped by her ex after her high school prom night she decides never to fall in love again. Her rule is simple : use men for sex and don't get emotionally involved.

But then Declan really gets Elizabeth's attention because 'Pride and Prejude' apparently is his favorite book..

"I wanted to toss him down the floor, crawl on top of him and ride him like the Jane Austen reader that I was."

Elizabeth remembers her rule but falling for Declan is inevitable. She tries to play it cool but Declan sees right through her. He can feel that something dark from her past is hunting her.

"My heart is not easily mended. And you -you have the potential to rip it apart permanently."

While Declan fights to break the wall of pain and insecurity between them , Elizabeth's ex shows up and all hell breaks loose.

For the last four years, good girl Lane has regretted breaking up with Noel Falcon. She thought she was sensible when she told him his dreams of being a rock star would get him nowhere, but now that he's a rock god and her career is stagnant, she realizes just how wrong she was. When Noel hires the marketing company where Lane is an intern, she’s forced to see him again. If she wants to land her dream job as executive within the company, she has to win him over and secure his account. Too bad Noel is still pissed at her for breaking his heart.

When Lane’s company flies her to a Black Falcon concert to gain Noel’s attention, emotions run high the moment she sees him and realizes she’s far from over him. But Noel’s countless trysts with groupies and his cocky attitude make Lane believe he isn’t the same guy she once loved—now he seems to only want her body. Then after Lane discloses she needs him to procure a job, Noel proves he’s a changed man by forcing her to go on the road with him in order to get it.

After Lane reluctantly takes Noel up on his offer, she becomes willing to do whatever it takes to keep him satisfied, even if it means succumbing to his seductive ways. Lane soon finds deception is a dangerous game and she’s not the only one playing.

I’m familiar to Michelle Valentine’s writings, as a matter of fact I’m a fan of her Hard Knocks  series and I’m so looking forward to read Xavier Cold. Meanwhile I decided to give it a try to her Black Falcon series , even if rock stars are not really my type of reads. Maybe it’s just me but  rock star stories  are a  little too  … unrealistic .

Noel Falcon is the lead guitar player and singer of the Black Falcon rock band. Lanie  is the hardworking good girl who tries to achieve a job at a marketing company.  If she wants to land her dream job as executive within the company, she has to win him over , secure his account and get more info about the Falcon Charity. But she soon finds out that the only reason why she got this chance is because Noel insisted for her to come and travel with the band for two weeks. Now Lane is afraid . Is Noel trying to get her back? Or is it revenge?

I was about to rate  it  4 stars but as I was reaching the end of the book something happened that made me not like the characters as much as I thought I do. When Lane finds out that Noel is expecting a child with another girl  , she simply did what she does best .  Turning her back on Noel when things are not as she wants them to be. Insane , she left Noel four years ago because she thought that he pays more attention to his music and not to her, even if Noel was obviously madly in love with her and would give an arm just to bring her back. He was left alone and  heartbroken but she didn’t care.

"Just stop. " he closes his eyes. "Just stop, okay ? You're ripping out my heart and you don't even know it. [...] The fact that I'm not allowed to do a God damn thing about it because you're not mine is killing me. ''

Noel made it clear that he does not love Sophie , he just wants to be a good dad to his kid and prove that he is better than his own father. But of course Lane didn’t want to hear a single word and starts throwing tantrums each time she doesn't get her way. Sweetheart, the world doesn’t revolve around you. To make things even worse , pushed by despair and fear  of losing Lane the second time , Noel ,too , starts acting like a 12 years old .

But fortunately the plot twist at the end saved the book for me.

Maverick is a man scarred by a past full of deceit. He was forced to make a choice… a choice that now keeps him held in the darkness -- a prisoner of his own doubt and regret. The Satan’s Fury MC is the only thing he lives for. Being their new Sergeant of Arms gives him the distraction he desperately needs to endure. He knows that he will never forget, but with the help of his brothers, he’ll try to move forward.

Henley’s life was just as she’d always planned. All of her hard work and studying had finally paid off with a full-ride to college. Everything seemed to be right on track… until the night she witnesses a crime that puts her in danger. She suddenly finds herself needing the protection of Satan’s Fury and an enigmatic biker named Maverick.

Henley is immediately drawn to Maverick. The pain and anger in his eyes hides something. Despite the walls he keeps throwing up, she knows there is more to him than just the brooding biker who makes her body crave his touch. She will stop at nothing until she makes all of those walls come crashing down.

When the lies of Maverick’s past unfold, will Henley be the light that pulls him from the darkness?

This is a pretty decent MC book and I'll be honest about it. I didn't thought it would be this good and I'm sure gonna keep my eyes on the following Satan’s Fury books.
Maverick is a typical badass biker and Henley is the typical ‘all day learning and no fun makes Henley the perfect good girl that any parent would want’.A straight A college student caught in the middle of something nasty.
At first she really got on my nerves but yet again maybe her way of reacting and overreacting on different situations is how ...normal good people react. She makes poor choices and then she puts her life on a stake in attempting to save the day and the club. This , of course, leads to even more poor decisiona leaving it up to Maverick and his brothers to clean up the mess. Overall this was a good read.
